    Default I wonder how many rounds were fired in

    this Garand. Look at the gas errosion around the primer pocket and the firing in hole.. One tough rifle!!!!!



    And here is the FP with the primer material that flowed past the firing pin!!!!

    It may have been just 1 primer! I bought a No 1 Mk 3 that was in Ex. condition - until I disassembled the bolt. The firing pin looked like an ice pick & was similarly pitted like your bolt face.

    Smile Just one shot with primer blowback...

    from a corrosive primer with no cleaning...who knows.

    I've got one that has worse bolt face erosion than that. Its a NM in 7.62, the guy I bought it from was running 190 grain bullets with nuke loads at 600 yards.
