Wish they'd hold the Western Games during the winter months as it'd provide us Midwestern types with more incentive to go out and participate. Also, 293 with a Garand is awesome. It looks like your score is better than the winning scores at Perry for the last four years at least. Can you provide us some details on your rifle (barrel, GI or aftermarket stock, tuned trigger, etc.)?

Rifle is nothing special. It's a 4.2 SA Rack Grade I re-built in '05 with a Criterion barrel from CMP and a Wenig stock from DGR. About 3500 rounds through it so far. Trigger's been cleaned up but I like mine fairly heavy so it's around 5 1/2lb.

I threw away two points in Slow Prone and one in rapids; no real excuse for that. It was only by pulling that 96-2X Standing out of my rear-end that made my final score what it was.

I think there's a lesson in there somewhere
