Default 03s on the firing line photo

Look like Marines since they are firing with the front sight protectors on and are wearing some sort of shooting coat. All I know for sure is it was at Camp Croft, SC during WWII.

I don't believe those are Marines. They look to be wearing the army blue denim fatigue uniform and Daisy Mae style caps. If during WWII it must have been early.

You are right:they are Army. Just looked up Camp Croft,S.C. and there is a humongous amount of pictures, info and old post cards about this WW2 US Army training and replacement facility that was located outside of Spartenburg. There is an active historical web site about this place.

There is no way the person closest to the camera could fire that rifle. Look at the position of the safety switch.

I know it is just a shadow from the "shooters" hat, but the buttstock looks like one of those "moorish" style flintlocks.

Liam- is this another "test" ??? Like the one about a marine in WWI with an A3 rifle ??

Emri - Nope, not a test. Just a photo that was new to me. These photos always seem to create their own interesting discussions/debates without help from me.

Now, if you like fake imagery...
