    Default RS Colt 1911 A1

There is an RS marked 1911 A1 on GB, Auction # 138224532 that looks very nice. However, it's serial number is 736xxx and it's blued, whereas Poyer and others say that they switched to parkerizing "circa" 735xxx.

Opinions? Seller has no return policy on this one.

A link is always a courtesy if you want others to look it up.

There is not a usable picture in determining if the finish is original or not, and the close-ups are blurry. No where in the ad does it say anything about the pistol being original.
I have never seen, and don't know a knowledgeable collector who has ever seen an original blued Colt 1911A1 past the mid 734,000 range. There are original phosphate Colt pistols in the late 734,000 range. Production of the blued 1911A1 Colts appear to have stopped one day, and phosphate production started the next day with no overlap.

Thanks Johnny for your comments. Sorry for not posting the link --- I thought
I had but on re-reading I missed it!

    Thanks again

Looks like a restored pistol I traded away(as restored) for a friend at Tulsa 2 or 3 shows ago. The same pistol showed back up at my table for a look about a year later with a fellow from MO. I told him the pistol was restored. If it is the same pistol, maybe that's why there is no mention of originality.
