... I have found and purchased a Lyman 17AXNB sight for my poor mans match rifle. I am assuming that Lyman 17A inserts will work in this sight?

Yes. All of The Usual Suspects (Brownell's, Midway, Champion's, &tc) carry the new set of inserts for the 17A series for about 15 bucks. The sizes of the apertures are really not useful for our US targets (too small), and the new posts obstruct the bottom of the tunnel. If you are going to shoot with a post, I recommend finding an older set of inserts and use the narrow post. For apertures, I recommend the photo-etched set that Lee Shaver produces .... they cover the full range of useful sizes and do not obstruct the view like the original and new Lymans.

Thanks for the info... I will probably go with a post front sight, so I'll have to find one of the older sets. Thanks again!
