Pbs spanish-american war dvd
Good video. Perhaps as expected from PBS, there is a lot more background material than there is material on the battles themselves. At least 1/3 of the DVD is focused on the Post-war Philippine Insurrection. The production, again as you might expect, has a heavy anti-imperialist slant. It is interesting that our monument to the USS MAINE was left by Castro, but he added a panel to it referencing the MAINE's imperialistic victims.
They may have a point. Had we not taken the Philippines, we'd have been spared such horrors as Corregidor and he Bataan death march.
There are some desultory combat sequences with middle-aged reenactors, and I have to say, a Gatling fired with blanks is not very impressive....
Still, a worthwhile addition to your video library.
