In the first photo, are you able to tell exactly what the markings are letter-wise? From the pic I can make out what I believe to be RFA which would be Royal Field Artillery. The other barred out letters I'm unsure of, and that would make looking them up a bit more difficult.

Obama. A lifetime of affirmative action gone wrong.
Able to decipher the other letters: C. LD. A. C. which could be a territorial unit. I do think this rifle was built on a first variation action body and not converted from an early rifle. The sights are still regulated for the VI cartridge with #2 magazine. I was attempting to determine by any markings, the last unit to use this rifle
Best I can reference is:
Royal Field Artillery
City of London Ammunition Column

You might try writing to the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield Lock, Great Britain. I don't remember the exact address, but that will get it there. Give them the s/n and let them do a search for you. They can probably give you the entire history of that rifle from 1907 to de-commissioning. Good luck. Years ago, I had a #1 Mk III* dated 1915 and I got the whole magilla. I had an answer within a few weeks. Good luck.
That little "64" at the top just below the screw could be the number code for the Territorial Force County Assoc.Sixtyfour is Northumberland according to "The Broad Arrow" by Skennerton. That could well be the last unit to have it.
