I've always had a soft spot for Johnsons - -

my longest shots have been with my B series Johnson - shooting silhouette of a cougar at 425 yards - standard iron sights and hitting body all day long....

Guy next to me tried to get me to go after a silhouette of a deer at 700 yds - had to admit I couldn't see the damn thing to try for it.... (of course in my defense it was under a tree in the shade 700 yds out)

if the price was right, that rifle is restorable.
i redid one a few years ago, that was done the same way.
had much less then 2500.00 in though. finding a barrel was a little tough.
rest of the parts are available reproduction.
