That is nice! Didn't you write somewhere you've never shot it since you shot the three enemy?

You are correct. I have not fired it since 13 July, 1967. I have plenty of shooters, so I would only use it if another situation were to arise that required it's use!!!

And needless to say John, it is well deserved. Thank you for your service.
Did you do any work cosmetically to it or leave it as is?

That really is an exceptionally nice piece to have survived 22 years since being produced...and being issued/used by a USMC Captain. Most USMC pieces with documented use I've managed to collect with use up through WWII are not nearly as nice. That one qualifies as a real survivor...like John!
The plaque says it all! You certainly deserve it. Thanks for sharing it.
I just checked the violent crime rate in Missoula. http://www.neighborhoodscout.com/mt/missoula/crime/
Your chances, according to those stats, of being the victim of a violent crime is 1 in 337. You might want to keep it loaded, but I think the odds are on your side. Be careful out there...and stay out of the "rice paddies".
In the part of town I live in, the only danger is being run over by a buck chasing a doe!!!!!!! Or being attacked by a rooster pheasant!!! It is a tough place to live, however someone has to live here, so it may as well be ME!!!!

Well then, be safe and don't wear doe scent.
The farm across the street is a mule breeding farm. They have a very happy male donkey. I hear many happy brays!!! The best thing I have ever done is move to Montana!!!!!
