Please help identify

Hello all. I am a poster on the CMP forum and was referred to here for some extra help. Picked this up at the local gun show this weekend. Seems to be NM but need opinions. I can post more pics if need be, but here are a few things about her:
Ser. # 1522486
Star marked S A barrel dated 11-24. Has some proofs on barrel. Stock appears to have some bedding in it. Remington bolt.
Barrel and rcvr dont match as barrel pre-dated rcvr, but Brophy's book seems to confirm this on match rifles.
Hatcher hole ( or just plain relief hole) present and bolt is serialized to match rcvr.
s marked stock in recess
Opinions? NM? USMC?

Can anyone please help with SRS?

SRS records do not list your rifle, but #1522485 was on board the USS Griffin ( AS 13...sub tender ) on 11/7/42.

I would love to have that nice Smith Corona buttplate. Just the right amount of wear. You need type 4-fine checkered buttplate. Oh ya!! Welcome to our little forum.
