Winchester Garand Serial Number Question

Is there anything special about a Winchester Garand in the serial number range 1404XXX?

I believe the sn you mention was never assigned to Winchester. Their highest SN closest to your number was 1380000 (highest) then they used 2305850 to 2536493. If there was an exception or special run, I don't know of it. Bodyman will know...

It seems to fall outside the serial number range that you mention. That is the one that I am familiar with as well.

Didn't they accidentally issue WRA and SA the same S/N block? I seem to remember one or the other having to add a suffix to the S/N to differientiate the two.
