Default SA WWI '03, WWII rework in Mark I stock.

    Hey guys,

There is a WWI SA '03 WWII rework listed on Oldguns.net. Looks like a nice enough rifle but with a questionable bore, thing is it's sittin' in a good lookin' Mark I stock (Don't know Mark I's so judge for yourself). These stocks in good unmessed with shape are pretty pricey right? So if somebody is lookin' for one and it's right, there it is. Guess if the bore cleans up you could sell the metal and still have your Mark I stock. I'd like to have it just the way it is if the bore would clean up for sure.

If this stock is right what would it be worth...not interested in purchase but curious? Went down two of Rick's rabbit trails recently, Moroccan carbine and Finn M39 Civil Guard rifle with antique receiver (Hey it's not a gun). I feel a bit guilty.

They also have a handful of good lookin' A3's and I think for pretty good prices.

I looked at it and, perhaps because the pic resolution is poor, don't see the Mark I notch in the stock beneath the ejection port. However, that notch is clearly visable in #s 16169, 4955, and old 4446. The latter one has been there forever and for almost a year now I've considered purchasing it and using the stock for my Mark I. If there were any compassion here, one of you would buy it and end my misery of indecision. As for what the Mark I stocks are worth, I don't have any idea. B
