    Default Natl. Postal Meter Questions?

I was helping a young ROTC student shop for an M1 Carbine last week. He's looking for a shooter not necesarily a collector grade. Two questions? Is $500 to $700 a resonable price range to expect to pay? (upper mid-west). Second. Would a Marlin barrell be correct on a Natl. Postal Meter rifle? I'm pretty good at Krags but not these.

It all depends on condition as to price. if it's a normal rebuild then the $500 to $700 range is about right. Yes a Marlin barrel would be correct for a NPM.

NPM did not make their own barrels and received barrels through the government free barrel program so they used five different makes. Underwood is the most common found on them but they did use Rock-Ola,Buffalo Arms,Marlin and IBM barrels as well.
