Looking to buy Inland M1 carbine #4965376. Has family history to it, and would like to get it back. Last was seen in 2003 and was still in its original type I configuration. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also on WTB forum

if desperation sets in I have 4995576, with a little imagination or handiwork is close! is illegal to manipulate the serial but what ever you got could be maybe as a set in---I found long ago that sometimes the real deal comes just when you finally give up and substitute! murphys law
Well was a relatives that did make its home after wwii and has a couple personal stories to it, that was foolishly sold off in 03. took couple years to track the serial number down. hopefully can find it again, and its still in original state.
What is "original type I configuration"? Does that mean it consists of all type I parts? If so it wouldn't be in original condition.
Well meant as left factory (no upgrades or refinish)
Good luck!
I'd like to find the Inland I carried while in an artillery unit in the early 60s - 570013.
I still have my weapons card.
Would about have a heart attack if it showed up, but I can always hope!

Hey BrianQ, given any more thought to writing that book? That would help clear up a bunch of the fuzzy areas of Carbine collecting.
Just wondering.....
