If this isn't the right forum, please tell me where to post it. My question is.......
How much interest is there in captured weapons from Viet Nam over a general interest of what the weapons are? Specifically, is a Tokorev or SKS worth any more as a documented war trophy than one that isn't? A customer has one of each with all the papers he had to have to bring them back in 1972 and wants to sell them. He asked me if I could help with determining an approximate value.
The Tokorev appears to be original finish, has serial number and an "11" in a circle, 1953 date, and no other marks. The SKS has matching numbers and a manufacturing mark. No other markings. The owner had it refinished in modern hot dip blue, ground off the bayonet attachment and refinished the stock. He said it was really rusty and the remaining pitting indicates he was right.
Any and all help appreciated.
