    Gents;
    No, IMHO, neither gun has been reblued. My book (limited info at best) gives the 1911 a 1922 birthday, but I defer to those with better research material. I to think the address line looks a little odd for that date, but the slide is numbered to the frame.
    The 1917 is stamped US property under barrel. There is a flaming piss pot on top left of frame. There are 2 "penguins". 1 near rear of TG, and 1 on the frame behind the crane, but no signs of inspector stamp. SN 851xx.

    Sorry sir. Not interested in selling the grips, even though I have seen people "asking" $300 for them. In fact, after I took the pix, I peeled those grips off and put them in a drawer. Knowing me, I would probably break them next time out.

    I do thank you for your input! Even with the less than perfect original finish, I too think $1000 is lowball on this Colt, even in this economy and in this area.
