Default Looking for S&W 1899 book recommendation

    Gents,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a book/manual that covers the assembly/disassembly of the S&W Model 1899 K frame. I've looked (on line) at "The S&W Revolver A Shop Manual" by Kuhnhausen but am unsure if this book covers the info I'm looking for. Any and all recommendations are very much appreciated.

    TIA
    VG

I do not have Kunhausens S&W manual, but do have some of his others. They are VERY in-depth. If you are interested in a simple dis-assembly, they are not that bad. Once you get the sideplate off, everything is right there for cleaning/inspection. If you need to repair or replace internal parts, then you might consider buying a manual. What are you looking for in particular?

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay in mine. I was out of the US with my job. I received this pistol in parts (they are all there) and am reassembling it. I just want to make sure it is done correctly. In particular, I'm not quite sure of the way the trigger is reinstalled and exactly what the relationship between the mounting pin and the spring (in the trigger) is.

I would recommend Kunhausens book for a project like that. Good luck.
