    Default Bushnell 4-12x40 Vintage?

I recently added a 1961 vintage near new comdition Husqvarna rifle to my collection and it came with a Byshnell Banner 4X-12X x40 variable scope in Weaver Tip-Off mounts. The front ring on the scope is movable and has range graduations on it. I was wondering roughly what vintage the scope is and what the use of the graduations are for.

The scope seems to be in near mint conditiob and is probably pretty old but I'm guessing not as old as the rifle.

Any info offered will be greatly appreciated.

Your scope appears to be a current production item.

The adjustment on the front of the scope is an adjustable objective.

The 4-12x40's adjustable objective (AO) allows the shooter to correct for parallax at any range between 10 yards and infinity. This makes it a possible choice for short range applications requiring high magnification, such as air rifle competition.

Thanks much gwp. I had thought, given the 50_ year age of the rifle, that the scope was probably old too. The parallax adjustment makes sense now that I think about it.

The second link posted stated: The Banner riflescope line is one of Bushnell's oldest and most popular. The link posted in not working right now.
