    Default Another passing......

It seems appropriate this should have happened on Veterans Day. I have read many of these notices in the past and today I am posting one. My brother-in-law, William Miller, died suddenly today of a massive brain aneurism. We both served in Vietnam, I was in the Marines and he was a helicopter pilot in the 1st Cav. We were both at Khe Sanh at the same time but did not know it until years later. We always kidded each other about which was the best outfit. Bill was a truly nice guy and I will miss him.

Sorry for your families loss. I also lost a very good friend of 23 years at 1am this morning. Mike was'nt a vet but was great friend at work and well liked by all. No matter how crappy the day he always had something to say that would make you laugh, sometimes to the point that you would have to stop working until the tears dried. Today the tears at work were not from laughter. At age 56,he lost his battle with cancer and is at now at peace.

    God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
    Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
    relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

    In company with Christ,
    Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

    Amen
    I collect expensive hobbies.

    Default Sorry too...

    My condolences to you.

I seldom reply to these type posts, they don't know me from Adam and no words I say will console them. But....

Two weeks ago I lost a life long friend and it has been very tough on me. As I poured over old photos to find those with him and I, it chronicled our lives over the years. From pics of us as young handsome guys to older with grayer hair and larger middles.

It took until a couple days ago to finally write a memorial to him on our high school website that I maintain. I told of things we did together, from riding to high school together to being in the same PE class in college, to working on cars together.

I posted a half dozen pics showing good times in our lives. I probably have cried more the last two weeks than I have the last ten years.

Sometimes life is not fair, but we must move on with our lives. That does not make it easier.

Thanks for listening. Very sorry for hijacking this thread.

What you can carry is all you need for an emergency situation. The rest you can pick up off the dead and dying if it gets that bad.
