Update on Dick and Gloria

Well, what can I say? This is the update I never wanted to make. Dick saw a neurologist today and the outlook is not good. The neurologist said Dick suffered oxygen deprivation sometime during the fall and being left unconscious on the floor for some unknown period of time. I won't describe what he is going through in detail because it would embarrass him if he knew. Gloria is a trooper, has been running errands, visiting doctors and doing everything she can to help him in spite of her own illnesses (she has neuropathy so bad that she doesn't feel anything below her knees except on those rare days when it hurts. Fortunately a good friend who lives in Coeur d'Alene has been driving her around, since she has numb feet, semi-numb hands, macuolar degeneration and an expired driver's license, all I can say is a thousand blessings on Joshua.

All in all, the picture is not good. I don't know where things go from here. She called and we talked a long time, she is still pretty much in shock over Dick's condition and isn't sure what to do now. She needs a few days to think it all through, I am sure.

She is pretty broke and is offering her .50 cal for sale to raise some quick cash. Their property on the mountain will also go up for sale but it's worth a bundle so probably won't sell quickly. I wish I had better news. Gloria said this site will stay up and running no matter what and that is a promise I will help her make good on. We are at the point of praying for miracles for both of them, but miracles happen. I pray for one or two now.

PS The many cards you sent were a light in Dick's day and mean more to him than you can imagine.
