    Default Ammo cleaning question

Just picked up a unopened bandoleer of FA 1908 30-06. When I got it home and opened 2 of the pockets the ammo has corrosion (the green cruddy stuff ) usually about 1/4 to 1/2 inch patch on the neck and shoulder. My question is there anything to remove this with. ie. vinegar, brasso, navel jelly.etc. I used steel wool on a couple. Or should I just leave it as is? Pretty neat headstamp FA 2 08 The bandoleer is dated March 12 1908.

For patches of the green stuff, poke it with a toothpick to make sure it hasn't corroded all the way through. If it is still solid, you can remove the corrosion with a quick soak in CLR. That will leave a spot of uneven color that can be cleaned up with brass wool, or just leave it as is.

FA 2 08 was the National Match lot for that year. In fact, the very first of NM for the new 03 rifle in cal .30 m1906. I collect NM ammunition. If you want to get rid of it, or even a clip or two, let me know.

Ray, thanks for the info. I would part with a couple of clips. Bill
