    Default Lilja Barrels

I wanted to buy a better barrel for my 77/22 and chose a Shilen SS .920 from Midway. Problem is I had to wait a month. On Feb. 14th I ordered the barrel, 30 day backorder. Yesterday was 30 days, no barrel yet. Called Midway and they said it could be another couple of weeks, so I cancelled the order.
Seeing now that I waited a month, I looked at the Lilja Precision website and they offer a 21 inch, SS .920 barrel for $375.00. I looked at Midways price of $449.99. I called Midway and asked why the barrel is less expensive from the manufacturer, it's usually cheaper as Midway gets a better deal because of the dealer status. All they said is they cannot lower the price to $375.00.
So, I called Lilja and ordered the barrel which went out UPS yesterday afternoon. That's fast service! Midway could take a lesson from Lilja's customer service!

Usually Larry Potterfield answers his emails. At least he has always answered mine. If you email him you might get an explanation. More than once I have found items where the manufacturers have prices at or lower than the distributors. Midway has good deals on lots of stuff, especially when factoring in the wide array of stock to choose from, the reliability, and normal speed of service etc. They have always been good to me. They sell a wide variety of ammo, but I seldom would ever buy ammo at Midway.

I have emailed in the past and Larry does answer in a very reasonable time frame. What I have found out is if you find a better deal, just go ahead and go with the better deal, it isn't worth the trouble trying to reason with unreasonable people. Midway is an OK place to buy if it's in stock, otherwise you are better off buying elsewhere. It seems everything is on backorder and if you look at their flyer, anything with a yellow highlight means it's not in stock. Sometimes it's half the entire flyer, or so it seems. Some sale items will be sold out before you get the flyer, so watch the website a week before the end of the month to be an early bird.

They lost the sale, too bad for them!
