Default Please Identify (and Value) this Eagle-Swastika Emblem

The silver-colored eagle-swastika emblem in question is in the lower left part of this picture.

It is made out of lightweight metal and has two metal attaching-prongs on the back.

I wonder what its original uniform function was, and what it is worth today?

    All assistance gratefully accepted.

Looks like a police shako (headgear) emblem. Any of the stuff for sale? PM me please. Fred

I don't use PMs to communicate.

I would be glad to send anyone a price list by return email. Just a few of the items in the photo are not for sale (like the eagle) because I haven't decided on a price for them yet.

It is a Nazi Police peaked cap eagle. It is not big enough for a shako. I recently saw what had been a nice Police hat that had slowly come apart over the years. It was missing the strap, but still had the aluminum police eagle, and they were asking $30 for all of it.

I found it attached to a ruined holster.

It was common for U.S. GI's to attach Nazi hat and uniform emblems to captured German holsters; something the Germans never did.
