I'd be lookin' in that 5 gal can to see what the guys sniffing.![]()
The rifle has been on GB for quite some time, with, I believe, a BIN of $875. Sounds like one of his number keys got stuck on his computer!!
One interesting point - the 1926 barrel date is kind of rare on a "hybrid" RIA/SA - nearly all I have seen have been in the 1927-29 date range.

I have one with a 1931 barrel date. JB offered the opinion that it is original.
I'll also second John's opinion of the value (price) of the gun on auction. I thought it looked quite nice and suspected it was probably mostly original but for the stock.
Scant stocks are a bit homely looking, but if one is going to shoot it, they feel a lot better than the "S" stock.
FWIW,
Emri
smoking crack is legal in Wi???
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.
It is the only one with the number 422100 which makes it one of a kind and rare.
i think he wanted it to say 875, but added the extra 00 not knowing GB would auto add them in price.
Looks like they have been fixed. Not a bad looking rifle if the bore is like new....needs a nice S-stock to get rid of that warthog stock.
1903 prices are going up, so someone is buying? Can't sell a nice one for that on the forum,...and this one would be about $600 I'm guessing.

At $875 BIN, the rifle is about $200-250 overpriced, I'd estimate. It's been for sale for some time.

With an $825 opening bid and no reserve, the rifle is very fairly priced. Fairly priced indeed! The receiver is one of those shipped from RIA to SA in 1926 for finishing and assembly. The receiver is most assuredly nickel steel, the barrel is original, and the bore is described as being shiny and in nice condition. The scant stock is in excellent condition and has a nice crisp WWII inspection stamp from Raritan Arsenal. And the sling is also in excellent unsoiled condition with clear markings.
