Tuna give me examples of fake or repro carbine parts from the 70's. I mean subcontractor marked fakes.
Blockhead I mean no disrespect to you or your IP carbine they are rare to find in any condition. The first IP I ever saw in person was a vet bring-back that looked original with lots of pitting and the owner had it chrome plated.
thanks,

The markings back then are the same as they are today. The harder to find the more likely faked so Rock-Ola,IP,IBM were and are faked. Barrel bands too as many type 3 bands were cut to make type 2 bands out of them. Just many more now then back then but those being made in China are so much easier to spot but they too are slowly getting better just as the stamps used on stocks are getting harder to spot. It's a sad state for collectors everywhere and it's not just carbines as it's in M1's and older collectable firearms like Lugers or 1911's even. If there is money to be made faking something someone is going to do it.
The stock is a S'G' not an SG. It is correct for your IP. I've never heard of an IP having an unmarked hammer. It is usally IP or S'G'.
