    Sir,
I can highly recommend Wolf Match Target for your use! I have used this ammo in a Stevens 416 with X barrel, Win 52 B and Win 52C. The groups will be as small as you can hold! I would not bother with the Wolf Match Target Extra unless you are a High Master and using optics. It may be worth the much higher cost for the Extra under those conditions. HTH George in NH

for bulk purchase: Champianship Shooters or Champians Choice. Both will have cases and bricks of various grades of ammo.
Brands to try: Various Eley grades, Lapua, SK/Wolf, RWS, and Fiocie.
To test which shoots best in your rifle, clean the barrel after each type of ammo. Then reseason
the bore with the next type. This may take 20+ rounds to do. You need to clean the bore during your test because each type has a different lube
and will affect the next brand and give a false group size.

A good suggestion to try different brands. While not a target rifle, my Anschutz Model 54 Sporter showed preferences for some brands of the match ammo. It also shot the Winchester Wildcat very consistently.

If you want real match ammo there just isn't quite the variety there used to be, at least not US mfg. I think Remington carrys Eley now and there's CCI Green Tag. The Russian match has a generally good reputation as was mentioned above. It all depends on what your particular rifle likes. Who knows you might get lucky and it'll like something really cheap best .

i shoot a lot of 22, use it especially for offhand training
    have great results with
lapua standard plus, 22 long rifle
    lapua super club, long rifle
    fiocchi 22 lr M320 match
    eley sport standard velocity

stay away from the high velocity, most of what i listed is moderately priced and available
    also can try winchester T22

Look at the Aguila Super Extra .22 LR, give very good groups in my 77/22 (1984 edition) and Marlin 2000 (1996), that I used for biathlon in Washington state.
Second would be the CCI Standard that states on the 50count box "target", seems that CCI is releasing some "gren tag every now and then.

My H&R M-12 will shoot 1 hole groups at 50', thats with 5 rounds with the Wolf Ammo. Its about $475 per case @ Champion Shooters Supply.

I have very good luck with that ammo as well. It is at the low end of standard velocity though and might give some reliability problems in some autoloaders. It is also very quiet which I find very nice. I got mine in bulk at a very reasonable price through the CMP.

I generally agree with Pelago on high velocity ammo but CCI Mini Mags have shot very well in all of my .22s. Of course I may not be a good enough shot to tell the difference.
