    Default Krag buttplate markings?

    Rack marking or Unit marking?

    Picked up a Krag and on the buttplate is: H2 over 55.

    Any ideas?

    Likely both: "H" Co. 2nd Xxxxxxxxxxxxx (THEY knew) Infantry, rack/rifle 55.
