    Well, the excessive expansion is identical for both of my type 99s. I have miked the cases fired in my sported Nagoya Series 7 and the cases fired in my all correct (duffle cut) Toyo Kogyo Series 31... and both sets have the same after-fired dimensions. It must be an issue with chamber throat size, which may be intentional to prevent cases from hanging up in the chamber during the heat of battle. Either way, the reloads fired as good and as accurate in both rifles, so I must have done something right.

    Yep, to my knowledge no reloading was done in the field...LOL They needed the rifle to fire new cartridges reliably and accurately and that was the extent of the requirement on chambers basically.

    It seems Enfields were also built with allot of intentional slop, early Ishapores being the worst.
