Thanks for the input, I took it apart again and checked the slide. It does have 'AOB' stamped inside.

Peeps are GE-O or maybe a 'Q' - stamp was a bit light on the end. Dunno for sure.

Took other one, that I had borrowed from a friend, apart. Nothing remarkable. Has a barrel stamp of "BLUE SKY/ARLINGTON VA" stamped LENGTHWISE FROM FRONT SIGHT.
    SER# 2168XXX
    STD.PRO.
    NO BAYONET LUG
BARREL UNDERWOOD W/BURNING CANNONBALL (AROUND BARREL BEHIND FRONT SIGHT)
FRONT HANDGUARD CLIP STAMPED 'A' IN CIRCLE
    LEVER SAFETY
    GREASE TUBE INTACT/COMPLETE
MAGAZINE RELEASE BUTTON HAS 'M' STAMP, 'HI' STAMPED ON RELEASE MOVEMENT
    FRONT SIGHT HAS 'PO-B' STAMP
REAR SIGHT HAS BEEN REMOVED AND REPLACED BY A SCOPE MOUNTING NUT.
UPPER HAND GUARD, APPEARS NEWER THAN STOCK, NO MARKINGS OF ANY KIND
    NO DISCERNABLE MARKINGS ON STOCK.
BUTPLATE TIGHT. CHECKERING WORN, BUT INTACT, NO STAMPS UNDER BUTPLATE ON STOCK.
    TRIGGER HOUSING GROUP STAMPED 'INLAND'
RIGHT BOLT LUG STAMPED 'W' WITH 'H' BELOW IT.
SLIDE HAS SOMETHING IN IT, VERY SMALL, CAN'T READ IT.
STOCK IS IN GOOD SHAPE, A BIT ROUGH BUT THIS RIFLE HAS SEEN A LOT OF HUNTS HERE IN VA.

Anyway, thanks again for all of the help and information. I am getting an education!

BY THE WAY... When I took mine apart, the spring behind the bolt locking (OPEN) pin fell out in two pieces. Any idead where another may be found?

    Thank You All,

    Ed

Maybe go over and ask for one of the springs and a new slide pin on the want section of the CMP board.I would give you the stuff if I had a spare right now but I do not..I assume you are saying the little pin itself is broke in two or just the spring is?Numerich Gun Parts would have them and many other internet parts places but Numerich ships pretty fast and are not to overly priced.

I would say 1200 to 1500 if 90% and all original that is the low end of the market.

Wow, better than I expected... Not sure if I want to sell it, but who knows. It's a good investment for sure!

Thanks a lot for the info, Johnny!

Yeah I would not sell my IBM with the original flip for less than 1500.00.They are going to go up in price but will they keep up with the rate of inflation is going to be the big question.I never plan on selling any but as uncertain as everything is you can never say never.Carbines in my opinion are about as much fun as you can have shooting..Enjoy it.Its a nice Carbine..

Nice find. It seems like there are more original IBM M1 carbines than any other. I have one I found a few years ago, but I paid more for it than you did.
