"Undercart a bit sticky this morning, sir!?!?"
A favorite moment from the old B of B movie as the young spitfire pilot almost lands clean....
I remember another story from the early days of retractable landing gear. A Navy pilot landed one of the new Grumman biplane fighters (F2F or F3F, I forget which) "clean" and it flipped over on it's back (the pilot was uninjured). As the crash truck approached, they saw the landing gear slowly extend ... the pilot apparently deciding that "late" was better than "never"!![]()

A7D student shooting touch and go's. On his last approach, he was told to go around because there was a commercial jet on final. When he did land he forgot to move that little lever to the down position. Our assistant chief of maintenence (we called him crowbar because one of the IP's said he had a crowbar that was smarter) immediatly started shouting maintenence failure. At that point the pilot egressed the aircraft and shouted "I F****D UP! They jacked it up, lowered the gear, put some scabpatches on the bottom and flew it back to the factory
A very common source of grief in General Aviation not so much in Airlines. Happens often enough that it costs more to insure a retractable gear a/c than one with fixed gear.Speaking of "Bozos" I once knew a guy who had landed 3 different times with wheels up (twice in the same a/c, aT-6 Texan) and he wasn't texting during any of those occasions. BTW if there are no injuries or no damage to other property or a/c these incidents are usually not reported especially if this occurs at a small uncontrolled airport.
If no serious structual just jack it up, lower the gear and tow it to a repair facility.
You know when you forgot to lower your landing gear when it takes full power to taxi.
