Long shot

Any one know where I might find a magazine for a 50 year old sears model 42, 22 rifle. The rifle even loads single shot poorly without one. Anyone have an idea other than finding a box of mags at a gun show. Would like to get it up and running to pass it on to nephew.

Try Marlin model 80 in the Numrich #34 reference guide. Don't know if they have them in stock, but they are on the schematics picture at $10.20 for the box type. $27.25 for the 7 round. They have 3 models, 42, 42DL and 42 DLM in the Sears line. The model 42 DLM is listed at a Marlin 980 in the DLM line the magazine is listed at $19.20 blue and $20.25 stainless (980S)

Numrich is out of stock. Called triple K, guy says if I can find any to send him the 240 he's back ordered. Looks like I'm up against a wall till someone makes another batch, or get lucky at a gun show. Who knows, might find one on a dusty shelf somewhere. Thanks guys. Any new ideas welcome.

Found two in a gun store. Walked in and asked about the mags and the owner asked how many I wanted. Reached under the counter and started tossing them on the display case. Stopped him after 3, think he had a few more. $12 apiece. Beat epay price by half. Thanks for the link anyway JB, would have used it if i hadn't found these.

Same sort of thing happened to a friend of mine. He was looking for spare magazines for his Remington 37. Went to the local gunstore (it has been there about 50+ years) and asked. The owner sat a Gym Basket full of magazines on the counter and said look for yourself. He found four in the basket. He asked the owner how much and he said $15 a piece, so he bought all.
