Default F-22 pilots refuse to fly.

Two pilots went on 60 Minutes in uniform and despite warnings from the brass, refuse to fly the airplane. The F-22 was grounded in Sept 2011 for the problem but it was never fixed.

How come it is always too something... Too hot, too cold, too soon, too late, too much, too little, too deep, too shallow, but always "too" something.

General Schwartz actually came out in the Air Force times and ina very poitically worded way basically said "The plane chokes pilots, it isn't pilot error if you can't breathe" What he actually said was that the investigation board GOT IT WRONG in response to the finding that pilot error caused a crash when the plane cause the pilot to experience hypoxia.

The pilot is the last chance to prevent any accident. If he, (or she, if she has a pair) knows that the aircraft cannot be reliably controlled, the only solution is to leave it on the ramp and let the chips fall where they may. Regards, Clark

Solution. Rip out the experimental oxygen supply system and install the system that has always worked.

John, not sure, but I think that can't be done.....probably due to profiteering more than mechanical reasons.

As I have said before, being asphyxiated can make it very hard to recover an aircraft or remember the correct emergency procedures. AIR ARE IMPORTANT

So, pilots will get in trouble for acting responsibly? That isn't the way I'm used to seeing it. The Air Force really must be a confusing service to belong to, do something like drink and you're in trouble for not acting responsibly, refuse to fly a plane that tries to kill the pilot and you're in trouble FOR acting responsibly. By the way, when did we start our kamikaze program?

No Tom, remember, the Kamikazi died for their emperor, our pilots are expected to die for corporate big wigs and political BS

True, but either way is dumb. All inter-service joking aside, since we have the best pilots on the planet, those pilots should be given nothing less that the best planes, period.

Apparently we have the best pilots, in the best planes, with the worst oxygen system. Normally 2 out of 3 ain't bad. In this case it is criminal. They know it is a problem and they are making excuses and alibis and telling lies.
