    Default Duffle Cut Repair

As promised, here are some pictures of the repair I did over the weekend on my duffle cut stock. This is a Toyo Kogyo, Series 31... with a cross struck full mum, chrome-lined bore, anti-aircraft wings on the rear sight, and all matching numbers!

I used a hobby stick (thickness of a popcycle stick) as the filler wood. The dowels are basswood. I used (on reccomendation) Elmers Carpenter wood glue to bond everything, and easy release painters tape to hold it all together until completely cured. All in all, it turned out great!!!

    Enjoy!
    Paul

Fortunately, I've built model aircraft since I was a teen (over 40 years ago, LOL) so the carving and fitting was a snap... But it really wasn't too much trouble anyway.
