I thought flyboys was great. There were so many shots that just can't be duplicated in real life. The movie had allot of aspects of training/combat not covered in many movies. There were parts I didn't really like, but it's hollywood. I felt it captured the romantic side of the early dogfights as well as the realities of air war.
As to the Blue Max. No movie is perfect, but this is one that atleast stands the test of time and I am just as content to watch the Blue Max on a Sunday afternoon as I am to watch Flyboys.
Didn't know there was a recent Red Baron movie. SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE A NEW RED BARON FLIGHT SIM! The old Red Baron 3d was great. Something about the details like the crack of a .303 or 8mm snapping through the wood of the airframe, The sputter of the engine, the creaking of the wings or the shuddering and loud cracks just before you snap the wings off. Or, the joys of bailing out of your burning plane and watching your parachuteless body rocket to the ground.
I own firearms not to fight against my government, but to ensure I will not have to.
