    Close, 31 shotguns.
Interesting mix of parts and stamps. I took lots of photos if anyone is interested in anything in particular.

So what is the story on the trench guns? Police department turn in's? Will they be available for sale?

YES!! Please tell us the story. Police/prison guns was my first thought when I saw the pic and where you live.

30 years ago I worked in a gunshop in Mobile, AL and the owner had just gotten a truckload of guns from TN that were ex-prison guns. A mix of Win. M25's, Ithaca 37's, and Win. M1907 semi-auto rifles in .351 Win. with 10 shot mags.

    Looking foward to it,

    Emri

I will take them! Nail a lid on the crate (tightly please - in fact, use screws) and send to me. Just tell me how much you need.

An alphabet letter government agency had borrowed these from Anniston Army Depot years ago. (Have no clue why they would need something this old!) They were done with them and they were routed to me to take back to ANAD.
I got to spend some time looking through them before taking them in and took as many photos as I could. Some things I noticed:
Serial numbers were predominately 950,000 to 970,000. Just 3 over 1,000,000.
NONE had original stocks with inspector stamps. They were either unmarked or had AN or TE on them.
    All had been reparkerized.
    2/3rds of heat shield missing.
About 6 were originally riot or commercial barrels with brazed sleeves added to accomodate the heat shield.
Only one 6-hole shield, all the rest were 4 holes.
A few had cloth M16 style slings.
    Multiple manufacturer buttplates.
3 different style rear sling swivel notches.
3 different handguards. Standard fat handguards, much thinner handguards and fat handguards with smooth bottoms.

There were a few in there that were really nice. Now to disappear into the vast warehouse.

Thanks for the info and the view into what is going on with US shotguns still in Govt. posession. I'd like to see some of the pics., mainly the detail of the brazed shims on the riot barrels. Also I'm guessing they were all US and bomb marked on the recievers and original barrels?
