need a Cowles front type 3 band..
Anyone have a spare "C" marked front band w/bayo lug, marked with the large "C", even with the swivel?...I have a 7.2 mil Winny that can use it.
Tried the usual places, Ebay, GB, AA, etc....no luck...
Any help would be appreciated..
thanks

I wish I could help ya but I'm there too. I have a 6,624 DCM Win that's just ahead of yours. Every part of the gun is correct except the SA T3 bayo band. The gun may have been made with a T2 and refitted shortly thereafter with the T3 but who knows. I found a Cowles T3 but it was later production with the C in the wrong place. Reisch indicates that Winchester used a W marked T3 band but a conversation with Bill Ricca leads me to believe that may not have happened. He did mention that correct and available C marked bands are all but non-existent. What band was on yours?

Type 1, unmarked, of all things...guess it would make a good trader...might get some nibbles offering that....hmm...

I spent years looking for one. I finally got one from a old gunsmith friend who found one in his parts. He knew I was always in the market for carbine parts. No the W marked ones are not correct. The only place I ever saw those were on IBM replacement barrels.

Yeah, Kar66.....not having much luck at all, but its only been a month or two...How about a EW marked flip safety? My carbine has an EW push safety now, which might be correct. I'm just a fan of the flip safety..

I have one that's been laying around here for years. I wondered what I could do with it, The Inland it came on is an early one and I've "retroed" it back to original. What's it worth to you. contact me at tgm66439@hotmail.com or (785) 346-4171

Still looking...Here's the one I'm after...4 large spot welds on top & large "C" . Will pay with a USPMO or will horse-trade. I have USGI items for the Garand, 1903 & A3, Lee Enfield, Colt 45 auto & some old collectable scopes. If you have the barrel band pictured below, please email or PM me.
Thanks
