Default "Skinny Barrel" S&W Model 10

I stopped by a pawn shop today. I'm friendly with the owner of the place and hang out with him for a few minutes every now and then.

He had on his shelf an S&W Model 10 with the thin barrel. It's a 4" in immaculate condition except that the initials of a previous owner were ingraved into the frame below the cylinder and a subsequent owner had tried to remove them - badly. So there is a spot where the finish is buggered up below the cylinder on the right side. $400.00. I admit being a bit tempted because I really like these old guns. Had it been a 5", a 2" hadn't been "customized" or was $50.00 cheaper I might well have bought it......like I need another wheel gun .

That's an excellent buy and $144.00 cheaper than the one I saw. I have to admit that it's been many years since I've seen a really nice one (and yours qualifies) for under $350.00 in my neck of the woods. Every now and again you get lucky, and I sure have at times.

If I buy another revolver it'll probably be a Model 18 if I can find one at a quasi decent price. Now those are REALLY pricey.
