Enfield MK VI grips

Grips, stocks or scales...whatever you want to call them. I have an Enfield Mk VI revolver (1926, IIRC) that came to me with white "Franzite" grips. At a gunshow this weekend I picked up a pair of black hard plastic grips that are supposedly for the Mk VI. They have an "M" at the bottom of each one. Assuming they are the right fit (frame size), are these correct for a military gun, or are these "civilian" Webley Mk VI grips? Thanks.

S, M. L, or small, medium, and large grips to fit the person it was issued to. (refers to thickness of grip panel) I really don't think there was any distinction between military and civillian grips (unless you go to target types).
And remember untill WW2, officers bought their own sidearms.

Away for the summer, but I think I recall in addition to the 'M' on my grips there are faint broad arrows adjacent to the grip screw.

I love these fine old revolvers. Sadly, mine has been cut for 45acp, but I carefully reload 45 auto rim cases with .455 bullets to proper Webey balistics. Great fun.

So load .45 Auto Rim brass in .455 Webley dies. (you will obviously need a different shell holder.) ,45AR brass is a hair smaller in diameter than .455 brass but firing it once will take care of that. You won't notoce the difference
