Default Your union dues at work

Republicans are the party of the corporations and rich while Democrats are just hard working common folks. That is what I hear from a lot of disingenuous folks that vote for whoever promises to give them the most booty. I wonder just how many union members have a clue as to how much of their retirement and welfare money winds up in the pocket of crooked Democrat politicians. They seemingly could care lessThat they are aiding and abetting people that abhor the blue collar working class. Maybe, just maybe, sometime in the future they will wake up and realize the damage they are doing to their country and their children.

Corporations and their employees also tend to spread their donations fairly evenly between the two major parties, unlike unions, which overwhelmingly assist Democrats. In 2008, Democrats received 55% of the $2 billion contributed by corporate PACs and company employees, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

How come it is always too something... Too hot, too cold, too soon, too late, too much, too little, too deep, too shallow, but always "too" something.

Red, what would any of us expect from any money laundering fools such as union stewards and the like? I am proud o say that in all my working life i never belonged to, or considered belonging to a union of any sort! I was brought up to speak for myself, negotiate for myself, and work hard to get ahead, and for over 55 years it worked, from the Navy to owning my own NON UNION shop!

Retired though I be I still will not join in any 'union' such as the AARP (democRAT songsters,) or any group like them. To the ones who spend their day's complaining about 'management' I say this, try WORKING for a change, God knows where it might land you!

One state Teacher's Union collected $110 MILLION in dues last year. Guess how much they spent 'on the children'?

As for unions in general, why is it that the union honcho's pension is FULLY FUNDED, while the workers are lucky if their's is funded at just 45-50%?

da gimp, what does you danceing on the high steel and haveing more balls have to do with the fact unions have distroyed city after city. Look at detroit. Look at Pittsburg. I'm sure you worked hard and did your job, but I'm also sure you would have done the same even if you were not in a union. I did what I had to do for over 45 years to get where I'm at and I never belonged to a union. Not trying to start a fight, only saying I think this America would be better off with out unions. Bob.

Union member for 25 years, Steward for the last 8. Proud to say I would have it no other way, and would do it the same way all over again.

Hey Dan, where are you getting your numbers regarding the "union honchos" pension funds? Every officer of every Boilermaker local is enrolled and contributes to the same pension fund that I recieve payment from. Their pension benifits will be calculated exactly the same as mine, by the number of hours worked in the trade.

Every person should have the right to join a union and every person should have the right NOT to join. Every state should be a "right to work " state no more " closed shops ". What has the union to fear its not a level playing field when forced to join. Another thing why should my tax money be used to collect union dues for the union? In the mid 50's out of the miltary I was pushed out of job on a truck dock when I refused to join a union. Payback is sweet later in life I beat the teamsters 3 times out of 3 elections . Again, I believe that a person should have the right to work without having to join a union. Kaleu
