I love "Two and a Half Men" with Charlie Sheen. Funniest show on TV ever. Not for kids though. Charlie is a weird bird for sure, but it appears he has a heart - and a lot of money. He has led a charmed life, and has probably seen more vaginas than a typical gynecologist.

Thats cool, maybe they won't suck so bad in some of their locations now. My biggest gripe with them is that they seem to be closed during times of large troop movements on an alarming basis. Almost like they plan it that way

Not saying they are terrible as a group, just that some of their locations are horrible. Some have been good and some seemed like they would have been great had they been open.

A friend was a USMC in Viet Nam, the Republic of , for 4 tours, 1965 thru about 1970........

one of his best memories of that time was seeing the USO's Bob Hope tour..........Bob & all the players did one helluva j/ob entertaing the troops there.

A funny story (at least to me) comes to mind when I am reminded of the USO. The only time that I was entertained by any celebs was at Fort Eustis, in 1966. The Rictious (sp?) Brothers were touring the area and word went around that they were doing an unscheduled show for the troops that evening. After training ended, I headed to town and managed to buy a pint of dark rum at a state run liquor store. How a baby faced eighteen year old kid like me pulled that one off is still a mystery. Any way, when the show started, I was sitting there, stoned, with around a thousand GI's listening to blue eyed soul love songs. I started laughing and couldn't stop. I suppose the levity of the situation was lost on everyone except me. I'm sure that if they had all been as drunk as I was, they would have "gotten it".

Sheen was funny until his brain got warped by Ron Hubbard and his "church"

I saw the Bob Hope show at Freedom Hill (I Corps) in Dec of 1970. It was entertaining, but not spectacular. What hit me was the fact that the man and his troupe were willing to give up their private time at Christmas to make a bunch of marines smile. Lola Folana(sp-1) was there, and she looked good. I was amazed at the shear number of walking wounded present. It was sobering. I missed the truck home while I was looking at the sniper board, and I actually hitchhiked to FLC at Red beach. When I hit Skivy Row, a bunch of kids shot at me. I dove over a low fence and found myself in one stinking pig pen. When I got to the gate at FLC about dark thirty, I thought they were going to shoot me, especially when I told them I hitchhiked from Freedom Hill. My reward for resourcefulness was a new post opposite Charlie Ridge SW of Hill 55. It was an improvement.

Joey Heatherton was at John's show if I remember right....... now she was & still is, one very classy lady.

On Bob Hope & his people giving up their time, my friend said the same..... if I remember right Charley dropped some mortar rounds on the base/ small arms fire during the show & Bob Hope just laughed it off.......

Never got to see the Bob Hope show in two tours -- but it felt good knowing he was there.
