Default Auction Jan 1st, US&S will be there

Hi guys, how much should I take for a US&S being auctioned off??????
serial no is in the 1milion range. Looks decent!
I know it'll be way over my head. But curious before I go.

Hi Terry... condition and originality are everything. This piece could be a bubba'd mix-master worth several hundred to an all original pristine example worth around $5k. Pictures will be needed to get any serious feedback on this.

Pretty hard to tell Terry. As Rob pointed out, everything depends on originality and condition.
You may want to check out the attached link, and study particularly the ID section to see what configuration that serial # US&S should be in. It will help you determine if it has the correct parts. May not tell you if it's original, however.
Could be a lot of money, particularly if you're not sure it's original.

Few gun on auctions are making reserve or minimums, so I would bid a little low. Money is still tight out there. 3800 might work=)

Type II serial number range, so make sure the slide is a Type II as well. Is the barrel correct ????

    Default Hmmm....slide stop issues

    Terry...

Take a look at "coolgunsite.com" that one of the fella's mentioned. Check into the slide stop as I'm thinking US&S used checkered ones on their pistols and not the ribbed one as you have photographed. You may be a while finding the correct parts for a US&S if you have to replace anything that is incorrect not to mention finding a part with ware matching the rest of the pistol.

    Default Mainspring housing

    Terry.......

Photos also show a flat possibly WW1 mainspring housing. US&S have their on checkered mainspring housing. There has been one on gunbroker.com auction site for a while for $175. This will give you an idea of what you may be in for when searching for US&S parts. Out of curiostiy, the trigger should have a blued finish.

That is a rather scruffy looking US&S with the problems mentioned above.
