    Default New Rock-Ola M14F

Has anyone taken the plunge? Ive read about them on the TFL, but wanted to hear what the folks on CSP had to say. I saw a Team Buy on the Team M14 sight but they had these really funky Eurpoean Markings on the heel. The Rockola look nice and word has it that they have sold in excess of 250 so far.

Any fresh thoughts on this new offering?

James River has not had the best rep on the repro carbine stuff. That said, the reaction to the reactivated drill rifle based 03A-4s they did seems to be pretty good. Wonder who made the receivers.

I put two together last weekend with those funky European Markings on the heel. It is actually a DOD type eagle with stars and arrows. I kind of like it. I put a Rock-Ola marked one together for a friend a couple of months ago. They are not bad at all. Very close in quality to the LRB receivers that I normally use.

Are the receivers forged, milled or cast?

Forged - Reviews have been good, and pricing better than others out there.

Finish is much nicer on the James River receivers than my polys. I would say the fit is as good or better than the Chicoms.

I believe the only place you can purchase a bare receiver is directly from James River Armory. I may be wrong. There is s first time for everything.
