    Default H&R M12 value

I need to help a friend sell an H&R M12. The rifle has the original stock as well as an Elk Ridge XC style stock in a very nice piece of walnut and is complete with a Tubb 3-way adjustable butt plate. The rifle is like new and has the original Palma rear and Olympic front sight. What would be a fair sales price. Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure what your stock is. At the Dallas Arms Collectors' Show Saturday, I saw a like-new M12 rigged similar to yours priced at $1,200. The stock was very dark and had the hand stop and rear swivel. HTH.

I paid 1200 for my M12, but I think I over paid.. I have seen them on GB.

I forgot to mention the XC stle stock is also fitted with a Anschutz rail in the fore end. It makes the M12 a very nice handling rifle. The stock is properly dimensioned so it can be shortened up for offhand

I bought mine in 1999 from the CMP for $300.00

I have no idea how much they are worth now.

A gun dealer asking $1,200 at a gun show is not the sell price. Maybe he got it, maybe not.

While my rifle is accurate, and I was able to adjust the trigger to an excellent pull, competitive shooters who are willing to pay $1,000 are looking at Anschutz rifles.

Guy in the gun club bought a like new Olympic Anschutz off Gun Broker for a grand. It has a two stage trigger and better buttstock than a H&R M12.

It really depends on what the market will bear.

I also paid 300.00 for a NIB with sights in 1999 from CMP. I have sold a NIB rifle with sights for 600.00 but it is a hard sell. Don't know what the extra stock is worth but it may pay you to split the two up for a easier sale.
I seen a M12 NIB at the Ohio Gun Collectors Assoc show over the weekend for 1199.00. You should have seen the guys walking by and laughing about the asking price. Must been hard on the seller setting there.

Hilarious! Back on topic, some of those asking prices are plain silly, but these M12's are worth a lot more than we paid CMP for them.

Come to my estate sale and get mine. Because I don't plan to sell the thing.

You may have to wait a while, because I plan to be around for a long time.
