    Default Replacement H&R M12 Stock

    Hi,
Anyone have an idea on where I might locate a replacement stock for an H&R Model 12 rifle. I have the original prone stock, but would like to use the rifle for informal 3 position shooting, and am looking for either a used 3P stock that could be refit, a new stock blank that could be fit, or worst case a used M12 stock that can be built up. I have a note out to Bishops Gunstocks on thier target stocks but haven't heard back yet. Any other ideas?

    Thanks

I used the regular stock for 4 pos. shooting. I cant think of the other names for a better stock. I think I googled H&R M-12 stock.

The stock you have now can be used for position shooting until you find a fancy one. Up until the 1950's thats all there was. At the 4P weekend before last my friend Bill Neff shot a stock Winchester 52B with a stock just like the M12's and he beat my butt even with my fancy G&E 2013.

Just out of curiosity, has anybody tried to bed a H&R M 12 barreled action into a Win 52B, C, or D stock? The dimensions are real similar, though a repeater stock would need to be PC Woody'd thru the magazine well, being as how the M 12 is single shot.

There was an outfit called Elk Ridge (reamerrentals was its web URL) that sold some semi-inletted M 12 stocks. Pretty nice wood but quite a bit of work to get it finished & fit. I dunno if it's still around.

This is a picture of one of my M-12 rifles. The stock is a copy of the Winchester 52D International with an Anschutz buttplate. I had the stock copied by Royal Arms Gunstocks in Great Falls Montana.
