Hi All,

hoping someone could point me in the direction of some needed parts...

I am missing the sling swivels and associated hardware for both ends...also looking for original magazines to feed this beast...

the aftermarket mag, which holds 10 rounds, doesn't feed so well...unless someone can inform me on how to tweak said magazine for more reliable feeding ???

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You didn't say why it does not feed.
Magizine problems are USUALLY the front "lips". If the bullet is pointed up too far and hits above the chamber opening, they must be bent down. If pointed too low, bent open. Use a long nose plyers, BUT bent only very slightly and try again, so slight you can not really see them move. If the bolt slides over the rim of cartridge then mag is not locking in place hi enough. Not much can be done with that.

after loading the aftermarket 10 round mag, inserting it and pulling the bolt back, it appears that the rounds sit level when the nose appears to need to be tipped up, other wise the bolt strips off the top round and it goes straight fowardand runs into the bottom face of the barrel below the chamber and there it sits jammed...

You should be able to get a factory mag at a local gun show. The original Stevens mags were not marked. The floor plates are blank so most people think they are some kind of generic mag.

You can get the swivel hardware from Gun Parts.

I have a 1937 Vintage M416 sold under the Sears Ranger label.

There are 10 round and five round magazines available for the things.

The magazine is not well designed. The sides are held in by crimped tabs. These tabs are soft. When the top tabs deform and allow the top of the magazine to expand out, the feed lips open up. This causes feeding problems.

I don't know how to fix this. I have tried glue, that did not work.

I do know that you have to be nice, not overload the cartridge stack in the magazine. That just creates pressure to push the lips out, and deform the tabs.

Mine performed similarily with the 10 rounder. It performs flawlessly with the 5 rounder however.

Both my mags are aftermarket as well.

My commercial M416 works fine with both 5 and 10 round aftermarket mags - guess I got lucky. Got them from Numrich.
