I'm having a problem with not enough firing pin protrusion. I suspect there have been P-14 parts installed in the bolt. How do I recognize the P-14 parts?
Thanks,
Bill

P'14 has smaller diameter striker tip, but not shorter. The extractor and the bolt itself are different, otherwise they are the same from a functional standpoint. Clean the bolt body out well. If that doesn't work, try another firing pin. Dirt or debris is the most likely culprit.
i suspect a broken firing pin.
replace it, and try again.
heres a redneck way to figure out if it will work.
after you assemble the new pin, drop a #2 pencil down the muzzle erraser first,
dry fire with the muzzle up,
the pincil should jump out the muzzle if working correctly.
if it doesnt, you have other issues.
This seems to be a good place to ask my question. I have just come into an Eddystone 1917. It's bore is in VG condition. And the action is smooth. However, somewhere during this rifle's life someone tried to close the bolt on a chambered round and wrecked the extractor. So I'm looking for that part. Also, the stock is cracked. Someone did a halfway decent job in repairing it but it's ugly. Any info on parts for these rifles would be appreciated, as I would like to restore it and use it in the Vintage Match @ Perry next year.
Thanks.
try the want buy and sell area on the forum.
There is an add on the CSP shopper right now listing M1917 extractors: http://www.jouster.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1938
Cemerson,
Popperts has some parts. Only the ones with lines going over to the price are in stock. Think last time I looked they had stocks. They are good to deal with.

Just checked, sorry no stocks.
