I am looking at a M1899 carbine #358,741 it has a "J.S.A"1900 stock cartouche. It also has a M1896 carbine rear sight with type 6 handguard. My question is when did they stop putting the M1896 rear and start putting on the M1901 rear? Thanks for any info.
