Default Different Flat Main Spring Housing

I have what looks to be a military Flat Main Spring Housing complete with a Lanyard loop. The difference is it is checkered. Not a Pachmeyr, this one is all steel. Has anyone ever seen one of these?

Nope..... it's not military.... and if it is, then Bubba has done the checkering post war.

Doesn't look to be a Bubba job. Had never seen anything other than a smooth flat mainspring housing. Also had never seen a mainspring housing with a lanyard loop that wasn't military. Now I guess I have.

I bought one that sounds like yours from Sarco in the Seventies. Wish I had more of them. Excellent quality.

Smith & Alexander offered a flat mainspring housing with checkering and a lanyard loop that was milspec at one time. It was a rather fine pattern and felt nice on a pistol.

This one is as nice as any I have seen from Colt. Guess, I'll have to buy another 1911 to put this one on.
