    are they a scarce rifle? i have an all matching, never rebuilt example.

    Don't know about scarce, ....I have an absolutely beautiful, un-rebuilt one also...think I paid $200 for it 2 years ago...Going to shoot it for the first time on May 2nd....Can't wait...Squirreled away two bandoleers of HXP 303 just for the occasion....
    It is a well made, wartime rifle....1943, I believe....

    The fact that it's not rebuilt definitely adds to its value...I've seen them in the $300 USD range....

    thanks for the reply Dan, mine is a 1942 vintage. nice shiny bore haven't shot it yet but do have some HXP to shoot through mine also. best regards

    I think they are relatively rare compared to the other manufacturers, but not made out of unobtanium either..

    Maltby was the highest production of the three factories building No4's in war time. 737k compared to 665k for BSA and 619k for Faz.

    You just don't tend to see that many of them, at least in my experience.
