    Default Pointed slide spring guide?

Something else I've never come across before and this time it is a pointed end slide spring guide. Instead of the forward portion that goes into the slide being flat on the front end, this one is pointed. Is this an early guide? TIA

Just different manufacturing process. Some carbine manufacturers used flat ends and some used pointed ends.

Some of the carbine manufacturers used both flat and pointed guide rods simultaneously or during different time periods. Depends on who the prime contractors were getting the guide rods from and when. There were six subcontractors supplying all the prime carbine manufacturers so if you look closely you'll notice more than two variations.
